When I looked down into the Grand Canyon, it was overwhelming and only three elements carved it - water, wind and time. When I stood at the edge of a hot spring in Yellowstone and watched steam and superheated water spew from deep within the earth, changing the look of the landscape with every passing second, I saw what time and vulcanism can do. It was all around me. At Battle Butte this past fall, I stood in the wind on a hill and looked down at a terminal moraine, the final resting place of a dying glacier. It produced an unimaginable scene on the windswept prairie.

We need to be as strong as these elements and as determined to change policy so that the human spirit can be free. It takes time, it takes patience, but like the physically changing planet, it will happen. Your freedom will not come immediately or easily. It doesn't come with socialism, with communism, with Marxism, Stalinism or religion, or lies that this old earth will change radically in a year or two - a movement created to control the minds of all people and bring you to servitude. It doesn't come with increased law enforcement or a military that will turn its strength against the people. It doesn't come from edicts issued by royalty.

It comes from a flame that starts in the pit of the soul. With freedom comes liberty and self-determination. Can you imagine the term - the free world, not the free country?

That is what I wish you all.

That precious right given to all of us; that precious thing called freedom.

There is a problem here. To my knowledge, the BLM wild horse and burro roundups aren't working out. Some are adopted, most aren't, and these wildborn creatures of the wind and open spaces languish in corrals. Their fate is not humane.

Below is a post from another group on the subject of the Arrow Trucking
Company shut down. I couldn't believe how truckers are being treated.
Perhaps some of you that are familiar with trucking can comment on what this
person said. If all this is true.. then why in the world would anyone want
to be a trucker without towing their private vehicle behind their truck with
a full tank of gas and money to get home should they suddenly find
themselves unemployed?

I didn't realize things were so bad for truckers. My prayers are with them.
I know some on this group are truckers, former truckers or else their
spouse is a trucker. How has it been for you.. especially since NAFTA took
effect?



Hi, I started driving trucks my sophomore year in high school, it was a
great summer job for a kid hauling Produce from the fields to the processing
plants.

I was treated well, never worried about money and was happy to work those
100+ hours a week while I was on summer break from school, and skipped a
week of school here and there to work. My FIRST 4 1/2 months I made TAKE
HOME of almost $28k! In 1980!

Fast Forward to the last 10 of the 28 years I drove truck before becoming
ill 3000 miles from home and getting stranded. THE LAST 12 months I drove I
made less than $17,000! BEFORE EXPENSES! And I could not get full pay from
ANY OF THE COMPANIES I worked for over the last 10 years. ACCORDING TO THEIR
FIGURES one Company says they owe me $6800, one said I had no wages due for
7 weeks work and they would not reimburse my expenses such as tolls, etc.

The Last company stranded me 3000 miles from home, and had CUT MY HEALTH
INSURANCE WITHOUT NOTIFYING ME so I had no health insurance IN MY HOME STATE
OF RESIDENCE! Nor would they provide me transportation home (turns out there
is still a law on the books that an employer cannot fire someone more than
50 miles from "home" without providing transportation "home" or to where
they were hired out of but THEY HAVE REMOVED ALL ENFORCEMENT! Thank you Bill
Clinton for NAFTA!)

And I was one of the drivers with the BEST record for safety, 28 years and
over 3,000,000 miles without a chargeable accident! AND TRUCKING COMPANIES
will treat you like garbage and put a steering wheel holder out of Somalia
in the seat, rob him as well, but he cannot complain.

The biggest Blessing of getting deathly ill, DMV TOOK MY CDL FOR MEDICAL
REASONS AND I AM FREE OF TRUCKING!

IT is now a form of slavery, low wages if they are paid at all, lousy
benefits, and you can be dumped on the side of the road anywhere for any
reason at any time.

One of the trucks I was driving for a HUGE 3000 truck trucking company was
REPOSSESSED when I took it in for service they would only allow me to take
my suitcase, not my tools, refrigerator, or "emergency supplies" as they
were "part of the truck".

OH... and Arrow Trucking they had a much better reputation than the
companies that are "offering to help" the drivers by offering them jobs. I
read "Prime, INC" is trying to "help". Well, I HAD THEIR head of SAFETY
ARRESTED FOR Fraud about 13 years ago, when in writing they offered me a job
and I FLEW FROM ALASKA TO MISSOURI, upon arrival not only did they not hire
drivers but they wanted me to "rent to own a truck" for 2 times what I could
have bought one at the dealership.

So, I feel really sorry for those former Arrow Drivers that are being
helped". I really pray for the Truck drivers, please offer them kindness
when you see them on the road, or any where else, they deserve it! It is
common for "truckers" to work 100 plus hour weeks, most of it unpaid and
take home less money then the kid flipping burgers that is home every night!
OVER HALF OF ALL TRUCK DRIVERS NOW LIVE FULL TIME IN THE TRUCK! If they lose
the job for whatever reason they are INSTANTLY homeless!

Without Truckers this country will come to it's knees, and they are working
at killing off the truckers. More and more by the day. God help us all.

President Obama has issued an amendment to Executive Order 12425, designating the international law enforcement agency Interpol as a “public international organization,” thus extending diplomatic immunity to the law enforcement group

The amendment to the Executive Order — which does not need to be put to the senatorial test of “advise and consent” — reads:

“By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including section 1 of the International Organizations Immunities Act (22 U.S.C. 288), and in order to extend the appropriate privileges, exemptions, and immunities to the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), it is hereby ordered that Executive Order 12425 of June 16, 1983, as amended, is further amended by deleting from the first sentence the words “except those provided by Section 2(c), Section 3, Section 4, Section 5, and Section 6 of that Act” and the semicolon that immediately precedes them.”

The text of Section 2(c), which now applies to Interpol states:

“(c) Property and assets of international organizations, wherever located and by whomsoever held, shall be immune from search, unless such immunity be expressly waived, and from confiscation. The archives of international organizations shall be inviolable.”

What do firearms and this blessed holiday have in common? Well, for one, liberals don't like to talk about either.

Christmas is coming. And for many Americans, that means opening gifts around the tree, big family dinners and Midnight Mass. No disrespect to Norman Rockwell - but Christmas always reminds me of shooting. Sure, I love seeing my family, gorging on the kind of food and drink that are usually impermissible during the other 11 months of the year and finding some fabulous little trinket under the tree. And every year I bring a batch of 'Cupp-cakes' to my local police and fire precincts. But enough of Capra. If I'm honest, it's also about the gun. Almost a decade ago, my friends and I had a lovely Christmas brunch at Les Halles in New York City-a superb French brasserie where, rightly so, nearly everything on the menu once had parents. After enough pork belly, crispy duck and rabbit ragout to swell our ankles and give us heart palpitations, we exchanged gifts. In a small, unmarked envelope addressed to me was a gift certifi cate for a shooting lesson. I was thrilled. I went down to the West Side Rifle and Pistol Range, in the dank and gritty basement of a building on 20th Street, to cash in my gift. After the lesson, we took to the targets. I squeezed the trigger of the .22 at the paper bullseyes in front of me, and I was officially hooked. Over the years that followed, I took up skeet shooting and hunting, and eventually bought my own 12-gauge shotgun. In recent years, the month	between Thanksgiving and Christmas has been marked by a trip upstate for deer hunting, and (hopefully) a freezer full of venison follows. And every Christmas, I go back to the West Side range for an hour to shoot that .22, which always feels a little smaller and lighter in my hands. It's a simple Christmas pleasure, a total escape and my annual gift to myself. And I'm not alone. For manyAmericans, the holidays wouldn't be the same without their guns. Maybe they're putting a turkey, a rabbit or some venison on the table for their families, or they're gathering the old gang together for thean annual winter hunt. Or maybe they're donating a deer to one of the country's countless collection and processing centers that feed hundreds of thousands of homeless and hungry every year. In New York state alone, since 1999 the Venison Donation Coalition has processed 337.51 tons of venison, or the equivalent of 2,700,800 meals served.	That's evidenced not only by his frightening legislative promises to make it nearly impossible to own a gun or even buy ammunition, but also by his nomination of anti-gun public health advocate David Michaels to the OSHA post and his appointment of Cass Sunstein, who thinks deer should be able to sue you, as regulatory czar. And with the economy down, the Obama administration is looking to squeeze some much-needed cash out of hunters and gun owners, via sweeping fines, taxes and fees. But it won't work. In Idaho, lawmakers hiked the fee on out-of-state hunting licenses this year to raise money for the Fish and Game Department. As of October, revenue from tag sales was down 9 percent. States that want to raise revenue should be making it easier and cheaper for hunters, not harder and more expensive.
	'The Obama administration's elitist antagonism of American gun owners and hunters is just bad socio-economics. And it feels particularly mean-spirited as Christmas approaches.'
	Between land conservation, deer population control and feeding the hungry, hunters are some of our most important humanitarians. And shooters, too. Studies prove that right-to-carry states have less crime, not more. According to the American Rifl eman's celebrated 'Armed Citizen' column, gun owners use firearms for protection as frequently as 2.5 million times a year, saving lives. And all of this is in jeopardy. President Obama is no friend to gun owners and hunters.	The Obama administration's elitist antagonism of American gun owners and hunters is just bad socio-economics. And it feels particularly mean-spirited as Christmas approaches. But good luck telling the grinches and scrooges of the liberal Left that, for many of us, Christmas just isn't Christmas without our guns. After all, Christmas, like the great American pastimes of shooting and hunting, is something you whisper about under your breath in liberal circles. On that note, I'm off to the range.
