QUOTE OF THE DAY - TECUMSEH, SHAWNEE CHIEF

"Live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about his religion. Respect others in their views and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and of service to your people. Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide.

Always give a word or sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend, or even a stranger, if in a lonely place. Show respect to all people, but grovel to none. When you rise in the morning, give thanks for the light, for your life, for your strength. Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason to give thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

Abuse no one and no thing, for abuse turns the wise ones to fools and robs the spirit of its vision. When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home." by: Tecumseh -(1768-1813) Shawnee Chief

FROM MY FRIEND JOHN, A FRIEND FROM KINDERGARTEN - SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT (IT'S SO NICE TO KNOW THERE'S A CONSERVATIVE IN NYS!)

When a soldier is killed in the line of duty, his family eventually gets a flag and a note conveying sympathy and respect from the United States Government.

When a Black pro basketball player announces he is gay, he immediately gets a personal phone call from the President congratulating him for his courage.

Am I missing something here?

QUOTE OF THE DAY

“There is only one universal truth,
you are either in control, or under it.”

QUOTE OF THE DAY ON LIFE, LIBERTY AND PROPERTY

Life, Liberty and Property. .
“Citizens choose your sides. You who are for French notions of government; for the tempestuous sea of anarchy and misrule; for arming the poor against the rich; for fraternizing with the foes of God and man; go to the left and support the leaders, or the dupes, of the anti-federal junto. But you that are sober, industrious, thriving, and happy, give your votes for those men who mean to preserve the union of the states, the purity and vigor of our excellent Constitution, the sacred majesty of the laws, and the holy ordinances of religion.” - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

QUOTE OF THE DAY FROM KRUSHCHEV...

IN CASE YOU DON'T REMEMBER WHEN HE APPEARED AT THE UN AND BANGED HIS SHOE ON THE TABLE, THIS WAS HIS ENTIRE QUOTE AT THAT TIME.
“Your children’s children will live under communism. You Americans are so gullible. No, you won’t accept Communism outright; but we’ll keep feeding you
small doses of Socialism until you will finally wake up and find that you already have Communism. We won’t have to fight you; WE’LL WEAKEN YOUR
ECONOMY until you fall like overripe fruit into our hands.”
~
 Nikita Khrushchev, 1959 ~

Looks like it's proceeding according to plan.

QUOTE OF THE DAY FOR DARK TIMES AHEAD - FROM BOB DYLAN...PLEASE HEED THE CALL

Remember when Viet Nam was hot, and we watched for the first time, news film on our black and white tv sets, a little grainy, but nevertheless, heartbreaking scenes of our troops in combat?  We hated the war - some more vocal than others and took it to the streets.  The government listened to us eventually.  I can't say "I" - I didn't participate in protest demonstrations.  I didn't wear beads; wasn't living in a painted hippie van,
didn't go to Woodstock (although I wanted to, secretly).

Damn - I was such a girly girl then.  Dimwit.  I should have gotten into politics back then. Politics, holding office, wasn't for ME.  I knew nothing about it.  With age comes wisdom.  How many people say the same thing?  How many of us fall by the wayside saying "I'd never have a chance."

I knew the war was wrong, and I remember when the copters were taking babies out of the country, I was hanging on the phone for hours trying to put my name on the list to adopt one.

I remember the people trying to be rescued from the top of the embassy...the faces of those left behind to face execution.

It was a dark time in our history.

But they listened.  Eventually.

So across the decades comes the quote of the day in a song by Bob Dylan, who wouldn't have thought an obscure conservative blogger would be using his words today. Here are the lyrics.  It is a musical warning for the masses...because the times, they ARE achangin'.

Come gather ’round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You’ll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you is worth savin’
Then you better start swimmin’ or you’ll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin’
Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won’t come again
And don’t speak too soon
For the wheel’s still in spin
And there’s no tellin’ who that it’s namin’
For the loser now will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin’
Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don’t stand in the doorway
Don’t block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There’s a battle outside and it is ragin’
It’ll soon shake your windows and rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin’
Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don’t criticize
What you can’t understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is rapidly agin’
Please get out of the new one if you can’t lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin’
The line it is drawn
The curse it is cast
The slow one now
Will later be fast
As the present now
Will later be past
The order is rapidly fadin’
And the first one now will later be last
For the times they are a-changin’

QUOTE OF THE DAY - ON REVOLUTION AND TYRANTS

“When the revolutionary kills, and a tyrant dies, free men emerge.”
                                                                                               (Jean Paul Sartre)

TAKE HEED AND READ THIS QUOTE ON THE FOUR SORROW FROM CHALMERS JOHNSON

"Four sorrows are certain to be visited on the United States. Their cumulative effect guarantees that the U.S. will cease to resemble the country outlined in the Constitution of 1787.
First, there will be a state of perpetual war, leading to more terrorism against Americans wherever they may be and a spreading reliance on nuclear weapons among smaller nations as they try to ward off the imperial juggernaut.
Second is a loss of democracy and Constitutional rights as the presidency eclipses Congress and is itself transformed from a co- equal 'executive branch' of government into a military junta.
Third is the replacement of truth by propaganda, disinformation, and the glorification of war, power, and the military legions.
Lastly, there is bankruptcy, as the United States pours its economic resources into ever more grandiose military projects and shortchanges the education, health, and safety of its citizens."
- Chalmers Johnson, Sorrows of Empire

QUOTE OF THE DAY - ON THE TYRANT

“The mind of the tyrant is a closed and tortured thing, never to be breached by logic or reason.”

QUOTE OF THE DAY - CONTROL OF THE MASSES

“History has proven that there are three primary methods of human control, fear, guilt, and reason.  While there are myriad variations on this theme, it has also been proven that the unwashed masses will respond only to the first two.”

QUOTE OF THE DAY - DISARMING AMERICA

"Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom of Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretence, raised in the United States." --Noah Webster, An Examination of the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution, 1787

FROM BEN STEIN - QUOTE OF THE DAY ON OBAMACARE

Paradoxical Quote of The Day From Ben Stein:

"Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured...but not everyone must prove they are a citizen."

Now add this, "Many of those who refuse, or are unable to prove they are citizens will receive free insurance paid for by those who are forced to buy insurance because they are citizens."
Think about it when you vote in November..!

QUOTE OF THE DAY..AMERICAN REVOLUTION

"But what do we mean by the American Revolution? Do we mean the American war? The Revolution was effected before the war commenced. The Revolution was in the minds and hearts of the people; a change in their religious sentiments, of their duties and obligations... This radical change in the principles, opinions, sentiments, and affections of the people was the real American Revolution." --John Adams, letter to H. Niles, 1818

THREE QUOTES OF THE DAY, ALL FROM ICH

"Nothing can now be believed which is seen in a newspaper. Truth itself becomes suspicious by being put into that polluted vehicle... Perhaps an editor might begin a reformation in some such way as this. Divide his paper into four chapters, heading the 1st, Truths. 2d, Probabilities. 3d, Possibilities. 4th, Lies. The first chapter would be very short." - Thomas Jefferson, 1807
"Mighty little force is needed to control a man whose mind has been hoodwinked; contrariwise, no amount of force can control a free man, a man whose mind is free. No, not the rack, not fission bombs, not anything-you can't conquer a free man; the most you can do is kill him." - Robert A. Heinlein, If This Goes On, 1940

"All propaganda must be popular and its intellectual level must be adjusted to the most limited intelligence among those it is addressed to. Consequently, the greater the mass it is intended to reach, the lower its purely intellectual level will have to be." - Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf, p. 180

"Today the world is the victim of propaganda because people are not intellectually competent. More than anything the United States needs effective citizens competent to do their own thinking." - William Mather Lewis

QUOTE OF THE DAY - ADOLPH HITLER (MEIN KAMPF)

"[I]n the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. " - Adolf Hitler , Mein Kampf, vol. I, ch. X

QUOTE OF THE DAY - FROM ARCHIE BUNKER

Archie Bunker: Don't bother the U.S.A Government with the Constitution.
Mike Stivic: Why? Afraid they're gonna read it?

This was taken from an All in the Family episode, which was first televised in 1968.

Folks found this funny back then.

Ain’t so funny today, is it?

QUOTE OF THE DAY!

Todays Quote:

QUOTE OF THE DAY - RON PAUL

"What have we allowed ourselves to become? Are we no longer a nation of laws? Have we become instead a nation of men who make secret arrests? Are secret prisons now simply another tool of the federal government law enforcement?" Ron Paul

QUOTE OF THE DAY - ON GASOLINE

"Somehow, we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to levels in Europe." - Steven Chu, U.S. Secretary of Energy under "President" Barack Obama
