Dear Friend of Liberty:
The Founders' inspired vision of limited government has been kept alive by the hard work and generosity of Americans who truly cherish individual Liberty average people like you and me.
In the toughest times times like we are facing right now in the life of our nation freedom fighters have always stepped forward for America—armed with whatever it takes and at whatever sacrifice—to answer the call to defend our liberty. That's how America was born and how we, as a free and sovereign nation, have survived.
I have not known a time when the threats to our Liberty and the Founders' vision have been greater than they are today. For Liberty to survive, it is imperative that we confront these new threats, in all of their ugly forms, both foreign and domestic.
We continue to see a major economic crisis unfolding in our nation. New government programs are started daily, and future plans are being made for even more costly government expansion. All are based on the belief that we're in this mess because free-market capitalism and sound money failed. The obsession is with more spending, bailout of bad investments, more debt, and further dollar debasement. Many are saying we need an international answer to our problems with the establishment of a world central bank and a single fiat reserve currency.
These suggestions are merely more of the same policies that created our mess and are doomed to fail.
At least 90% of the cause for the financial crisis can be laid at the doorstep of the Federal Reserve. Their manipulation of credit, the money supply, and interest rates caused the various bubbles to form.
Congress added fuel to the fire by various programs and institutions like the Community Reinvestment Act, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, FDIC, and HUD mandates, which were all backed up by aggressive court rulings.
The Fed and US Treasury have perniciously doled out trillions in subsidized loans to troubled banks and other financial institutions, and that number is growing through a revolving TARP slush fund which the Feds are using to bail out their huge corporate buddies. The Federal Reserve and Treasury constantly brag about the need for "transparency" and "oversight," but it's all just talk — they want none of it. They want secrecy while the privileged are rescued at the expense of the middle class.
It is unimaginable that Congress could be so derelict in its duty. It does nothing but condone the arrogance of the Fed in its refusal to tell us where the trillions in bailout money have gone. All Members of Congress should be outraged that conditions could deteriorate to this degree. It's no wonder that a large and growing number of Americans are now demanding an end to the Fed.
The Federal Reserve created our problem, yet it manages to gain even more power in the socialization of the entire financial system. The whole bailout process this past couple of years has been characterized by no oversight, no limits, no concerns, no understanding, and no common sense.
Similar mistakes were made in the 1930s which ushered in the age of the New Deal, the Fair Deal, the Great Society and the supply-siders who convinced conservatives that deficits didn't really matter after all, since they were anxious to finance a very expensive deficit-financed American empire.
All the programs since the Depression were meant to prevent recessions and depressions. Yet all that was done was to plant the seeds of the greatest financial bubble in all history. Because of this lack of understanding, the stage is now set for massive nationalization of the financial system, and even the means of production.
The Feds not only own and control car companies and financial institutions, their lust for power and control now extends to their malevolent scheme to nationalize our healthcare system and thereby take over one sixth of our entire economy. This will be a disaster if it happens!
I could go on but I know that you understand the crisis that we face and agree with me on what must be done to turn our nation around.
I hear from Americans like you who are up in arms about what is going on in our nation. Messages come into my congressional office morning, noon and night. Taxpayers are outraged by the huge bailouts, the massive expansion of government and the refusal by Congress and the leaders of both parties to follow the Constitution.
Many Americans are frustrated—many are outright angry—about failed government policies that just tighten the government's noose around our necks. Many millions of fed up taxpayers have taken to the streets and town hall meetings in recent months to make sure their voices were heard by the uncaring Washington elites.
Since the financial crisis has become more and more apparent, and the attempts by the Fed and Treasury and Congress to solve the problem have become more desperate, my phone has been ringing off the wall with calls from media outlets wanting interviews and to get my opinions about what is going on and how we need to deal with it.
Several books that I have authored with the help of FREE have become instant best sellers as patriotic Americans search desperately for the intellectual and political ammunition they need to fight for the future of our country and to take back our freedom from the fascists who despise our Constitution and those of us who defend it.
During the presidential election, do you remember how the media scoffed at my suggestions that we were facing economic disaster? They laughed at my calls for limited government, for abolishing the Fed and the IRS, for cutting federal spending at home and abroad to balance our budget, and my call for a sound monetary system. Today, we are well into this economic crisis and they are not laughing any more.
The time is ripe for us to be at the forefront of offering workable solutions of calling for a return to limited, constitutional government, the need for honest money and low taxes, and the absolute need to expose and abolish the Federal Reserve which has done so much to undermine our currency and destroy one of the most productive economic systems in the history of the world.
My bill to audit the Fed has made tremendous progress. Together we have led the fight to get congressional hearings, 308 cosponsors, and unprecedented attention around the country for this legislation. Yet the banksters and a few of their weasel allies in Congress continue to do everything they can to water down or outright kill our movement to audit this monstrous institution.
I'm outraged at every such attempt to stop our bill in order to enable the secrecy and disruptive power of the Fed to continue. Some days I am so angered by the banksters' underhanded shenanigans that I'm reminded of the famous battle cry of central bank foe Andrew Jackson as he moved to abolish the central bank: "By eternal God I will rout you out!" Jackson shouted as he demonstrated the courage to go against Congress and the Fed.
The task before us is huge. Our challenge is both political and philosophical, but either way, the solution must begin by properly educating Americans as to why our current out-of-control, misguided political and financial systems have failed, and what must be done to turn things around.
My Foundation for Rational Economics and Education (FREE) has been waging such an educational effort for several decades. We have had a great deal of success publishing newsletters and books and producing radio and TV programs teaching people about the Constitution and free markets and sound money.

The heavy hand of government is coming down on people and organizations who are legitimate - legal, lawful and do yeoman's work to expose questionable, illegal, moral, ethical actions which eventually lead to CHANGE and better futures and conditions to benefit humans and animals alike.
Like PETA or not, agree with them or not, their exposes are brutal, but necessary. They oftentimes are directly to OUR health.
When our rights are violated as to choice - whether we feel moved to participate in a peaceful demonstration which is OUR RIGHT, guaranteed by the Constitution, then we have to question who is running the government, and make every effort to unelect and/or remove them from office.
This is another assault on the freedoms that we all enjoy.
Think about the other organizations that are out there asking your help in issues of morality, ethics, compassion, etc. Whatever is important to you - for whom you volunteer, and to which you contribute time or money, how does it feel to be classified a terrorist?
The squeeze is on.

First he was found more than a year ago in the woods in summer. He weighed nothing. Skin and bone, ticks, heartworm, actually, probably every parasite a dog can have. He could have been euthanized. But something told the folks at the shelter in Port St. Joe not to do that. Instead, Howie patiently waited with iv drips and got strong enough to walk. Yes. He was that horrible to look at.
HOW can people do that to a dog.
But he couldn't find a home. So Jim Thomas and his wife from North Carolina (forgive me if I'm wrong, Jim), got him into a rescue up there.
I am waiting for an answer from Jim at the moment. I think Howie's still up for adoption. He has been through temperament testing and socialization, housebreaking. He's been neutered, chipped, and he's also black. Almost half and half white. But black dogs, you see, don't get homes so easily.
And now it's another Christmas, and I doubt that Howie has been adopted. I'm hoping I can blog that he's been adopted.
He is handsome, strong, kind and gentle. There's a cute photo among the images on Jim's site that show him towering over a tiny Chihuahua.
PLEASE. If you are the vicinity of Howie, and thinking of adopting a shelter pet this Christmas for a joy forever, please consider Howie.
He needs you. And you probably need him.
He cannot stay in foster care forever.

Katie Couric may be best known for her unflattering interview with Sarah Palin. But her nightly news broadcast this past Monday night may be an indicator that the big liberal media are now turning their guns on Obama.
Couric said on “CBS Evening News” that Americans are growing “disenchanted” with Obama and are openly questioning his credibility.
“Is the honeymoon over?” anchor Couric said at the beginning of her correspondent’s report.
“Although President Obama has been in office less than a year, many Americans are growing disenchanted with his handling of the enormous problems he and the country are facing, from healthcare to unemployment to Afghanistan.
“His poll numbers are sliding, and at least one poll shows his job approval rating has fallen, for the first time, below 50 percent.”
Correspondent Chris Reid chimed in: “The president is getting battered on everything from the economy to foreign policy. Some polls show Americans are increasingly questioning his credibility.”
The report asserted that while Obama talks about dealing with unemployment, which is over 10 percent and expected to rise, he has developed “no new ideas” for dealing with the problem.
CBS also cited a poll showing that only 14 percent of Americans believe Obama’s claim that healthcare reform won’t add to the budget deficit, and only 7 percent believe that the stimulus has created any jobs at all.
The report also criticized the president for being “indecisive” on Afghanistan, and for returning from his recent Asian trip “with little to show for it.”
An expert was quoted as describing his trip as the “amateur hour,” as he did not line up agreements with foreign countries before venturing abroad.

Actor Ed Begley is capitalizing on his green lifestyle in California. I've seen some of his shows on tv.
Actually, I am all for off-the-grid living and the homesteading lifestyle. If I can be self-sufficient, put my resourcefulness to work instead of paying utility companies, why not? I think everyone should give it a try. Not so much because the earth is "dying", but because of the dignity and satisfaction that comes by not depending on utility companies, big agra, etc.
I've had that attitude since the 70s, and never quite attained it. But I support all that do, and collect information in books and magazines and on the net all the time, just in case I get lucky.
I have to admit, I am no gardener. But I will get my mushroom compost, get out my walking plow, get out my electric chainsaw and trim some trees that have managed to grow when I ignored them, and maybe plant a winter garden. Even if I get a couple of heads of lettuce and
snow peas, I will consider it a success.
But I never believed in global warming. We can't stop the forces of nature.
Gore is a liar. He was no good as a VP, and he's managed to hoodwink the nation and part of the world as a puppet for the globalists and the UN, while flying around in a Jetstream. No commercial flights for the man; then there's the family owned zinc mine which is a known major polluter.
And then comes the news that global warming is the hoax I said it was.
Thank God for whistleblowers and in instances of pursuit of truth, the hackers.

The first words out of a person's mouth, especially in a stressful or crisis situation, are often quite telling. Barack Obama, America's first openly Marxist president, is no exception. Even though his handlers had plenty of time to craft a message about the terrorist shootings at Fort Hood, Texas, this president's first reaction was to describe what he sees as the distinction between the war in Iraq and Afghanistan and this latest terrorist attack inside our borders.
Obama's exact words were, "It is difficult enough when we lose men and women in battles overseas. It is horrifying that they should come under fire at an army base on American soil."
Who do you think we are fighting "overseas," Mr. President? Do you imagine for a moment this is not the same enemy? Just because Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan didn't have a shiny new badge in his pocket reading "Junior Al-Qaeda Deputy," does not preclude him being in the enemy's camp. This particular terrorist was born and raised in Virginia, yet he identified himself as Palestinian. He joined the U.S. Army right out of high school, thereby allowing American taxpayers to pay his way through college, medical school, internship and residency over the last two decades.
We literally paid for Dr. Hasan to become a 21st century psychiatrist. Yet in the end, his backward, violent 7th century religious beliefs meant more to him than his own country and countrymen. His allegiance is with radical Islam, as evidenced by the fact that he murdered 13 innocent people and wounded 30 others. And lest you have any doubts about his jihadist intentions or where he allies himself in the War on Terror, he was yelling "Allahu Akbar" (God is great) before pulling the trigger.
Of course, the president and the collective leftist media are cautioning against "jumping to conclusions" around the whole politically incorrect notion that this was a clear act of terrorism. Frankly, it's a pretty short leap. Had this individual been some southern redneck named Billy Bob Jones shouting, "Jesus saves," while shooting down innocent people, the administration and the press would have been "jumping to conclusions" with both feet.
We are being overrun with tales of how this poor, confused man felt persecuted and harassed because of his Muslim faith. This man complained about American involvement in Muslim countries, advocated violence as a way to protest and tried to convert psychiatric patients to Islam! And after he shoots people, we're supposed to believe he is the victim?
The insinuation seems to be that a man who never saw a day of combat or spent one minute in a live war zone suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) by listening, during counseling sessions, to stories of people who had. That's a bit like saying I'm entitled to slave reparations because I saw "Amistad."
As if there needed to be any clearer delineation of the integrity of true American soldiers versus the madness of Islamism, the reports are that as soon as he was neutralized, the other soldiers, his intended victims, took away his gun and immediately began working to save his life.
Jihadists cut off civilians heads with rusty knives and murder their own children in the name of the "Religion of Peace." American soldiers take only the lives necessary to keep us safe, and manage to save a life that even Hasan's own family has now denounced. These soldiers didn't do it because they had to, but because they followed their training. It is endemic to the American ideal that where mercy is given, mercy is shown. The moral relativism that says American soldiers are just as bad as the terrorists is beyond hypocritical. It is insanity. It is Orwellian "War is Peace/Hate is Love," insanity.
Our Muslim-sympathizer-in-chief, Barack Obama, wants us to believe this was an isolated incident with no connection to the Islamic extremism we are battling overseas; but clear-thinking Americans know better. They understand it is the same war.

This is a prelude - or a portent - of things to come for us. In less than two weeks we have been shocked with the announcements that severely threaten our health and longevity. These are the recommendations of later and fewer mammograms and that we do need to do self-exams.
Then they tried to persuade us out of our right to receive or not, if that is our choice, Pap smears which can save us from cervical cancer.
Aren't you connecting the dots? THE GOVERNMENT - THIS COMMUNIST/SOCIALIST/MARXIST GLOBALIST GOVERNMENT THROUGH OBAMACARE, WILL RATION THESE AND OTHER PROCEDURES.
This puts us back into the dark ages, and gives us second class status. But it won't just be second class status for women. If Obamacare is passed in any form, whether it is bi-partisan or not, everyone will be second class. That is what socialized medicine is. We will suffer; our lives will be shortened, and we will, indeed be visited by the death panel crowd and shown how to die well (check CNN for the story - also a warning that we should die "well".)
