He says that this isn’t republicanism, it’s democratic tyranny. And the senators arguing to filibuster are being demonized, but Levin says that an up and down vote on the 2nd amendment is unconstitutional, that there is no up and down vote on the Constitution.

The Senate passed the 2013 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). It expands the President's powers to kidnap you.
This criminal piece of legislation passed 98-0, with Sens. Kirk and Rockefeller not voting.
That's right, 98-0. Only twice in the last half-century has the Defense Authorization been unanimous.
If ever there was a vote where a Senator could express his principled opposition, this was it. It's not as if the caucus needed their vote.
Yet not one took advantage.
The bill is now in Conference Committee to be reconciled with a House version. A final vote in both chambers will quickly follow.
