THE LOVE OF A GOOD DOG - SERVICE DOGS FOR PTSD - A WORTHY CAUSE

As you go through your life, suffer loss, trauma, and are a dog lover, you know that your world is made bearable by the love of your dog (or other pet companion). Service dogs are heroes to those that have them, and I am so happy to see they are being used for ptsd. I have a friend who suffers from it; he spent three tours in Iraq and has come home a different man. Coming from a family with many pets all the time, he adopted sibling Great Pyrenees when he came home who keep him "well". One of them wakes him from his night terrors and lies against him at night. No one trained him. He just "knows".

Charley Reese's final column for the Orlando Sentinel... He has been a journalist for 49 years.

545 vs. 300,000,000 People - By Charlie Reese
Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then
campaign against them. Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the
Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?
Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high
taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?
You and I don't propose a federal budget. The President does.
You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote
on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.
You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.
You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.
You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.
One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one President, and nine Supreme
Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million
are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic
problems that plague this country.
I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because
that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty
to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.
I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal
authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a President to do one
cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The
politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the
legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.
Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that
what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.
What separates a politician from a normal human being is an
excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up
and criticized the President for creating deficits. The President can only propose a
budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.
The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representativesf or originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? John Boehner. He is the leader of the majority party. He and fellow House members, not the President, or originating and approving appropriations and taxes. If the President vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.
It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted --
by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable
directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise
the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.
If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.
If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red.
If the Army & Marines are in Iraq and Afghanistan it's because they want them in Iraq and Afghanistan ...
If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the
people, it's because they want it that way.
There are no insoluble government problems.
Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire
and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to
regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power.
Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied
mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what
they take an oath to do.
Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.
They, and they alone, have the power.
They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.
Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees...
We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

On that trip, Max sat on the back seat with my son; the raven in his cage (Orville), wasn't happy, to he sat on my shoulder for the rest of the drive - there and back. I took my hibernating desert tortoise (fully licensed in the state of CA) to New York when my mother was ill. He traveled in my oversized handbag and never knew the difference. He woke up in the spring.
We always took one or two dogs. Sometimes 3 or 4. Even in a tent! What's the deal with the first dog? I don't think I'd like to be Bo. I think Holly, my Australian shepherd, old and still beautiful, is a happier girl. Bet Bo never gets a visit in the Oval Office.

He's pretty political, and he foresees this - American troops on the ground here and TSA (who, he says will soon carry weapons), will band together, using the services of local law enforcement (remember, they are federalized and militarized now), against us. But they won't be as much a problem as those desperate for food.
Be prepared. Be careful.
The nut cases in Congress who would do us in for global governance, want it this way.
From top to bottom, our government is about ready to collapse. But good comes from chaos sometimes; I hope we are wise enough to put our Constitution to work and "git 'er done".

MY FRIEND IS HAVING BRAIN SURGERY TODAY AND I CAN'T KEEP MY MIND ON MY BLOG TODAY, SO
I am reminding you to check out http://www.drudgereport.com and http://www.prisonplanet.com because I just can't sit here anymore. It's been five hours now and she is still in surgery. They found three tumors on her brain, resulting in horrible headaches the past few days, and loss of balance that sent her headfirst into the floor. The last time it was into the bathtub.
Her cancer is at stage 4.
So if you have a moment today, think of my friend, and send her your prayers, your positive thoughts or just good vibes. She didn't deserve this. Not at 53. Nobody does.
And please - don't smoke. You can walk away from tobacco; it's difficult, but it's doable. There's help for you.
Don't end up like Alyssa.

Grass-roots coalition to hold rally urging sheriffs to stop TSA abuses
DAYTONA BEACH - In what may be the first movement of its kind in the nation, a coalition of grass-roots liberty groups is holding a rally on Sunday outside the Florida Sheriffs Association convention in Daytona Beach. Their goal is to encourage sheriffs to enforce the Constitution and stop the Transportation Security Administration from warrantless and random searches at airport checkpoints.
According to organizers, the objective of the rally is not to protest, but rather to encourage sheriffs to uphold the Fourth Amendment, as well as Florida statutes on molestation, as they apply to TSA employees. The rally will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2011, outside of the Hilton Oceanfront Resort, 100 N Atlantic Ave, Daytona Beach, from 4-7 pm. The assembly is free and open to the public. Participants are encouraged to bring signs urging sheriffs to confront the TSA and protect Floridians' rights.
The rally is being organized and promoted by the Libertarian Party of Florida, the Campaign for Liberty, the Florida Tenth Amendment Center, Oath Keepers, the Constitution Party of Florida, Wake Up 1776, the Save America Foundation, We Are Change, Young Americans for Liberty, the Florida Republican Liberty Caucus, and several tea party and 912 organizations.
In a July 4th letter to all 67 of Florida's sheriffs, Florida Libertarian Party Chairman Adrian Wyllie wrote, "We turn to you as our last line of defense against a federal government that is usurping authority and ignoring the rule of law. If you have TSA agents within your county that are violating the law, then you must act."
The letter called on sheriffs to arrest TSA employees who violate the law.
Retired Arizona Sheriff Richard Mack, a renowned author and Constitutionalist, will be speaking at the rally. "The sheriff who keeps his oath to uphold and defend the Constitution, does not allow anyone to violate or abuse his constituents," said Mack about the rally. "Do you know what happens when your sheriff stands for what's right? Freedom!"
Organizers cite the Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which guarantees all Americans the right to be secure in their persons, papers, and effects against warrantless and unreasonable searches by government. They point out that sheriffs are sworn to uphold and protect the Constitution, and that the U.S. Supreme Court has recognized sheriffs as the highest Constitutional authority within their jurisdiction. "We are simply asking the sheriffs to honor their oath and do their job" said Alex Snitker, syndicated radio talk host and 2010 U.S. Senate candidate.
The LPF has received very little response to their request to the sheriffs. "Even though they have the U.S. Constitution, the Florida Constitution, and multiple Florida statutes on their side, sheriffs seem hesitant to enforce the law," said Wyllie. He points out that their reluctance seems to be based in fear of confronting the federal government, despite their sworn duty and uphold the Constitution.
Andrew Nappi, coordinator of the Florida Tenth Amendment Center, will be one of the many speakers at the rally. "The TSA, which has become synonymous with 'Temporary Sexual Assault,' should be held accountable to the rule of law," said Nappi. "We commend the LPF for being the only political party in Florida to stand up for our civil liberties, and we are proud to stand with them."
Rally organizers contend that the TSA imaging systems, commonly known as "naked body scanners," are a violation of the Fourth Amendment, and may violate child pornography laws when used on children. They also point out that these scanners, which emit radiation, may be a health hazard, citing data that indicates a correlation between the scanners an a rapid increase in cancer rates among TSA employees. The Department of Homeland Security has denied that the scanners pose a health hazard to employees or travelers, and has refused to comply with OSHA and other regulatory standards regarding x-ray machines and radiation-emitting devices.
Organizers also object to the enhanced pat-downs performed by TSA agents on travelers who refuse to be scanned. "Not only do the enhanced pat-downs violated the Bill of Rights and Article One, Section 12 of the the Florida Constitution, they are clearly in violation of statues regarding lewd and lascivious behavior, and in some cases even felony sexual battery," said Wyllie. "The sheriffs apparently believe that if the federal government does it, then it must be lawful. That's a very dangerous fallacy."

and Drug Administration, that is precisely where you should find them.
Because Diamond Foods made truthful claims about the health benefits of
consuming walnuts that the FDA didn’t approve, it sent the company a
letter

and, therefore, “they may not legally be marketed … in the United States

the public and supply them with walnuts,” as William Faloon of /Life
Extension/ magazine

Diamond that its walnuts were “misbranded” because the “product bears
health claims that are not authorized by the FDA.”
The FDA’s letter continues: “We have determined that your walnut
products are promoted for conditions that cause them to be drugs because
these products are intended for use in the prevention, mitigation, and
treatment of disease.” Furthermore, the products are also “misbranded”
because they “are offered for conditions that are not amenable to
self-diagnosis and treatment by individuals who are not medical
practitioners; therefore, adequate directions for use cannot be written
so that a layperson can use these drugs safely for their intended
purposes.” Who knew you had to have directions to eat walnuts?
“The FDA’s language,” Faloon writes, “resembles that of an
out-of-control police state where tyranny [reigns] over rationality.” He
adds:
This kind of bureaucratic tyranny sends a strong signal to the food
industry not to innovate in a way that informs the public about foods
that protect against disease. While consumers increasingly reach for
healthier dietary choices, the federal government wants to deny food
companies the ability to convey findings from scientific studies about
their products.
Walnuts aren’t the only food whose health benefits the FDA has tried to
suppress. Producers of pomegranate juice and green tea, among others,
have felt the bureaucrats’ wrath whenever they have suggested that their
products are good for people.
Meanwhile, Faloon points out, foods that have little to no redeeming
value are advertised endlessly, often with dubious health claims
attached. For example, Frito-Lay is permitted to make all kinds of
claims about its fat-laden, fried products, including that Lay’s potato
chips are “heart healthy.” Faloon concludes that “the FDA obviously does
not want the public to discover that they can reduce their risk of
age-related disease by consuming healthy foods. They prefer consumers
only learn about mass-marketed garbage foods that shorten life span by
increasing degenerative disease risk.”
Faloon thinks he knows why this is the case. First, by stifling
competition from makers of more healthful alternatives, junk food
manufacturers, who he says “heavily lobb[y]” the federal government for
favorable treatment, will rake in ever greater profits. Second, by
making it less likely that Americans will consume healthful foods, big
pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers stand to gain
by selling more “expensive cardiac drugs, stents, and coronary bypass
procedures” to those made ill by their diets.
But people are starting to fight back against the FDA’s tactics. “The
makers of pomegranate juice, for example, have sued the FTC for
censoring their First Amendment right to communicate scientific
information to the public,” Faloon reports. Congress is also getting
into the act with a bill, the Free Speech About Science Act (H.R. 1364),
that, Faloon writes, “protects basic free speech rights, ends censorship
of science, and enables the natural health products community to share
peer-reviewed scientific findings with the public.”
Of course, if the Constitution were being followed as intended, none of
this would be necessary. The FDA would not exist; but if it did, as a
creation of Congress it would have no power to censor any speech
whatsoever. If companies are making false claims about their products,
the market will quickly punish them for it, and genuine fraud can be
handled through the courts. In the absence of a government agency
supposedly guaranteeing the safety of their food and drugs and the
truthfulness of producers’ claims, consumers would become more
discerning, as indeed they already are becoming despite the FDA’s
attempts to prevent the dissemination of scientific research. Besides,
as Faloon observed, “If anyone still thinks that federal agencies like
the FDA protect the public, this proclamation that healthy foods are
illegal drugs exposes the government’s sordid charade.”

This kind of bureaucratic tyranny sends a strong signal to the food
industry not to innovate in a way that informs the public about foods
that protect against disease. While consumers increasingly reach for
healthier dietary choices, the federal government wants to deny food
companies the ability to convey findings from scientific studies about
their products.
Walnuts aren’t the only food whose health benefits the FDA has tried to
suppress. Producers of pomegranate juice and green tea, among others,
have felt the bureaucrats’ wrath whenever they have suggested that their
products are good for people.
Meanwhile, Faloon points out, foods that have little to no redeeming
value are advertised endlessly, often with dubious health claims
attached. For example, Frito-Lay is permitted to make all kinds of
claims about its fat-laden, fried products, including that Lay’s potato
chips are “heart healthy.” Faloon concludes that “the FDA obviously does
not want the public to discover that they can reduce their risk of
age-related disease by consuming healthy foods. They prefer consumers
only learn about mass-marketed garbage foods that shorten life span by
increasing degenerative disease risk.”
Faloon thinks he knows why this is the case. First, by stifling
competition from makers of more healthful alternatives, junk food
manufacturers, who he says “heavily lobb[y]” the federal government for
favorable treatment, will rake in ever greater profits. Second, by
making it less likely that Americans will consume healthful foods, big
pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers stand to gain
by selling more “expensive cardiac drugs, stents, and coronary bypass
procedures” to those made ill by their diets.
But people are starting to fight back against the FDA’s tactics. “The
makers of pomegranate juice, for example, have sued the FTC for
censoring their First Amendment right to communicate scientific
information to the public,” Faloon reports. Congress is also getting
into the act with a bill, the Free Speech About Science Act (H.R. 1364),
that, Faloon writes, “protects basic free speech rights, ends censorship
of science, and enables the natural health products community to share
peer-reviewed scientific findings with the public.”
Of course, if the Constitution were being followed as intended, none of
this would be necessary. The FDA would not exist; but if it did, as a
creation of Congress it would have no power to censor any speech
whatsoever. If companies are making false claims about their products,
the market will quickly punish them for it, and genuine fraud can be
handled through the courts. In the absence of a government agency
supposedly guaranteeing the safety of their food and drugs and the
truthfulness of producers’ claims, consumers would become more
discerning, as indeed they already are becoming despite the FDA’s
attempts to prevent the dissemination of scientific research. Besides,
as Faloon observed, “If anyone still thinks that federal agencies like
the FDA protect the public, this proclamation that healthy foods are
illegal drugs exposes the government’s sordid charade.”

I do. Just for about 10 weeks now, and I'm normal now. BUT...aside from the muscle cramps I was told to watch for, I didn't know until now that there are many problems associated with them, and I'm thinking I should not be on the one I take. 2. Peace-Leading Norway Learns Terrorism the Hard Way

Norway mourns the massacre of at least 98 victims of terror after years of presuming to be immune to terrorist attacks and to be a model for peace.
The country was shocked by the 32-year-old home-grown gunman, dressed as a policeman, who went on a rampage at a summer camp on an island and killed dozens of children and others at a conference for the youth wing of Norway’s ruling Labor party. The murderer, Anders Behring Breivik, expressed no remorse for the slaughter Friday night.
Norway is the home of the Oslo Peace Accords between the Palestinian Authority and Israel which literally exploded in Israel’s face in 2000 with the outset of the Second Intifada, also known as the Oslo War.
“Tucked away in a northern corner of Europe, Norwegians have been in the enviable position of watching others deal with mega acts of violence and even being able to pass judgment on the way others have handled acts of terrorism,” noted the non-political global travel industry website eTurboNews.
Norwegians are struggling with the mega-terrorist attack the likes of which had not been known, until Friday, in the ”Land of the Midnight Sun.” The country is in mourning, with the Norwegian flag at the country's embassy in Israel at half-mast.
More gruesome for Norwegians was the cold-blooded method of the disguised killer, who had planned the massacre for two years. He entered the day camp under the pretense of checking security after a previous bomb blast he set off in Oslo, killing seven people outside the office of the prime minister.
He reportedly told the campers, “Come over and play with me” before opening fire and indiscriminately gunning down anyone in his gun sight. The screams of children helped him located them in the darkness.
Norway also is dealing with the slow response of security forces, which did not arrive at the scene to stop the rampage until 90 minutes after it began. Police, who generally patrol streets unarmed, did not have access to a helicopter and were not able to find a boat that would take them to the scene of the horrendous crime. There is no bridge to the island.
Breivik, a right-wing extremist, wrote a 1,500-word manifesto before the attack, in which he condemned Muslim immigration. Norway also is a safe home for anti-Semitism.
Despite the attack, Norway is not about to change its principles of freedom. “I remain convinced that the belief in freedom is stronger than fear. I remain convinced in the belief of an open Norwegian democracy and society. I remain convinced in the belief in our ability to live freely and safely in our own country,’’ said King Harald V.
As a footnote here, it is difficult or illegal to own a firearm for self protection. In an exchange of emails this a.m. with a single woman who lives in Norway, she wishes for a shotgun for her home, but says they are extremely difficult to get.

If you speak to your friends or family who escaped to America, you will find that we are rapidly caving in under this administration to the socialist/Marxist/totalitarian communist government that brave people risked their lives to reach.
Why are we letting this happen? And why do we allow presidential appointments of blatant
in-your-face men and women who have communist ties and support ideologies that are counter to our foundation?
