STOP THE SALE OF BAY MEDICAL CENTER TO SACRED HEART NETWORK! YOUR LIFE WILL DEPEND ON IT!

If you have Muslim doctors, and I know several of you do, you need to tell them that they'd better find out before March is over, if they will be kept at BMC.

In a phone call today, there is a self-admitted problem with the staff of BMC by Sacred Heart.

Dr. Victor Ortega at Pulmonary Assoc. in PC is very much against the sale/lease. We were at a meeting last night. This is a corporate takeover by the Catholic church. Promises made were not in the contract, so staff doesn't know if they will be rehired by Sacred Heart. They have to apply to Sacred Heart and wait. He said last night that he believes the staff will be purged.

Did you know that the staff was promised retroactive raises with the $3.5 million BP settlement and no one knows where the money went?

Public records under the Sunshine Law have been requested by and have been refused.

No audits on anything have been done - not the physical plant audit or a financial audit. No one knows WHY or WHO was responsible for the disappearance or mishandling of BMC finances...poor management, embezzlement, favors, fraud...nothing is known.

There was legislation presented by Sen. Rene Garcia down south regarding the sale of hospitals. In it was the requirement for a referendum. Then our Sen. Gaetz got it and scrubbed that. It is on Rick Scott's desk for signature today. It coincides with the sale of the hospital to Sacred Heart. Timed just right so that the "voters" are the Board of BMC and the County Commission and of course, not the public.

Public records law violation is a big deal.

Please contact the Governor's office somehow today and tell him to stop the sale of the hospital to Sacred Heart on the public records violations at least. Or you can send a brief email to Attorney General Pam Bondi (http://www.myfloridalegal.com) to tell her about the public records violations. There is a quick link under her picture on the right where it says to contact her, and then a link to file a complaint.

That alone can put a hold on this.

I think because of the closed door negotiations, missing money, and so many other shady issues, that this requires a Grand Jury.

There are ways to get BMC back on track. We can save our public, non-profit hospital which was to be ours in perpetuity.
