ARE BECKEL AND MATTHEWS BROTHERS? BOTH ARE IGNORAMUSES IN LOCKSTEP (OR GOOSESTEP)

Bob Beckel: Women Don’t Need Guns Because Rape on College Campuses Doesn’t Happen

During a discussion on Fox News’ The Five about concealed carry on campus, liberal co-host Bob Beckel demonstrated his complete ignorance regarding the sexual violence women face, particularly on college campuses.

“When was the last time you heard about a rape on campus?”

Just because each and every rape on campus does not receive widespread media attention does not mean it’s not happening.  Here are just a few statistics from NYU’s Student Health Center, Mr. Beckel:
-          One in 5 college women are raped during their college years.
-          Most survivors of sexual assaults are full-time students. Approximately one-third of them are first year students between 17-19 years old.
-          In a recent study by the National Institute of Justice, survivors of rape knew their attackers as:
o   Fellow classmates (35.5%)
o   Friends (34.2%)
o   Boyfriends or ex-boyfriends (23.7%)
o   Acquaintances (2.6%)
-          81% of on-campus and 84% of off-campus sexual assaults are not reported to the police.

-          35% of men report some likelihood that they would rape if they could be assured they wouldn't be caught or punished.

Also disturbing was the fact that Beckel seemed to downplay a woman’s right to self-defense in cases of date rape. Regardless of who is attempting to rape a woman on a college campus, or anywhere, she should be entitled to defend herself, and university policies ought to reflect as much. As Katie reported yesterday, an emergency call box and safe zones do nothing to help victims of rape.

Update: Beckel issued this “apology”:
"It's a horrible, horrendous issue. And it's simply put, this, rape is rape. Whether it's date rape or it's somebody coming in off the campus trying to rape somebody else. I very strongly feel that way. And so, I just want to straighten the record out on that. I simply was trying to make -- there was not a distinction to make here. It simply was that  date rape is rape. And that is, by any other definition, rape is rape."

YOU CAN LIVE WITHOUT COMCAST; TRULY YOU CAN. YOU CAN LIVE WITH ONE STATION (I GET FOX AND NOT THE "WHOLE" FOX) BY ANTENNA.

http://visiontoamerica.com/14026/comcast-cable-says-it-is-dropping-all-ads-promoting-guns/

My decision was prompted because the bills were so high.  Did I need that?  A gazillion channels to seduce my brain into jelly?  No.  I didn't want to hear the propaganda from biased media, watch endless commercials (did you know in the beginning there weren't any on cable), telling me what to buy.  I was already weaned off foreign made products.

So up went the antenna and I get one entertainment channel, and I don't listen much to that.  I confess my
addiction to Big Bang Theory, Who's That Girl, and that gruesome "The Following", only because it reminds me of Stephen King novels.  Be that as it may, I get my news on the internet from sources I believe report the news we don't get on tv.

Think about this article.  They are taking away your right for information and guiding you to the left to skewer your intellect and make you forget you have a right to watch.
.
That's all you have to know.

MIKE WALLACE, MARCO RUBIO, WATER AND SCRAPING THE BOTTOM OF THE BARRELI

I half listened to Obama and his false promises which cannot be accomplished without the money presses roaring or taxing us finally, to death.

Rubio's speech was "nice guy".  Too much nice guy.  Never once did impeachment come up to nail the lying madman in the White House.

But when Mike Wallace criticized Rubio, the liberal left media bias came through with a clarion call to find the most infinitesimal  neutrino he could find fault with the water, that pesky thing that keeps us healthy and alive.

Everyone who gives a speech has water somewhere within close reach. Even Mike Wallace.

Wallace is an idiot - an Obama water carrier, which is literally obvious now.

You know what?  Rubio's thirst was the most "real, human" part of the two speeches.  But he should not have let it bothered him so much that he even defended himself to the press.  And the press showed its stupidity in asking him about it.

PREZ EYE CANDY CAVES IN LIKE A CHEAP TENT WHEN LIBERAL MEDIA GETS ON HIS CASE ABOUT BENGHAZI

By The Way, Have You Noticed How President Eye-Candy Caves In Like A Cheap Tent When The Liberal Media Gets On His Case?

FROM HIS FAILURE TO HOLD NEWS CONFERENCES TO NO-SHOWS AT INTEL BRIEFINGS TO THE LIBYA ATTACK
“What the hell kinda question is that? You guys are ‘sposed to be on my side!”
If there’s one thing President Eye-Candy can count on, it’s the Herculean effort generally put forth by his lapdogs in the media to not hold him accountable. For anything. Ever. However, in the rare case when the Obama Media Group fails in its cult-like duty and temporarily switches sides and calls him out – which doesn’t happen often -what does O do? Caves in like a cheap tent. You see, O’s political compass isn’t effected by public opinion or the will of the American people (See: ObamaCare.), but by the behavior of the sock puppets of the liberal media.
Take the hubbub that erupted not only over his failure to appear before White House correspondents for six months or thereabouts, but also over his refusal to even answer questions from reporters covering his campaign – all the while having no trouble finding time to sit down with People Magazine, Entertainment Tonight and “Pimp With The Limp.” What did O do? He raced to the White House briefing room for a quick Q&A on the Monday following a weekend of heightened criticism over the whole thing.
Then we had the revelation that President Genius has skipped over half his daily intelligence briefings (PDBs), choosing instead to “read the memos.” You know, he’s so damn superior in intellect to mere mortals – why on earth would he need to actually meet with intelligence officials, ask questions or listen to the give-and-take of his advisors?  Hell – he’s above all that, right? Except that once the story got out and began to gain traction in the media, guess what? Now word comes from the Regime that O’s intel-briefing attendance is nearly 100%.  (Wow – sounds like “gold star” time, huh?) Amazing transformation? Of course not – he once again caved to criticism from his normally-loyal minions in the media.
The latest example – and most troubling – was the Regime’s coordinated attempt – from a nanosecond after the event occurred – to claim that the attack that on the Libyan Consulate that killed Ambassador Stevens was “spontaneous.” O trotted out UN Ambassador Susan Rice to
liemake a fool of herself on the Sunday morning talk shows; Hillary immediately described the attack as spontaneous. Astonishingly, O even stood before the United Nations this week and embarrassingly spent 5 1/2 minutes lying about the anti-Mohammad film to the world.
But – as the Obama Media Group began to consider its own credibility – vs. that of the Regime – the support for “O’s Big Lie” eroded. As a result, not only does Hillary now admit the attack was indeed pre-planned and carried out by al Qaeda operatives – the White House has finally – albeit reluctantly – fessed up too.
The bottom line is what I said at the top: This pretender-to-the throne thrives on blind-eyed sycophantic protection from the sock puppets of the Obama Media Group. When – in those rare instances – the OMG goes over to the dark side, O rushes at breakneck speed to put his finger in the hole of the dike.
The other bottom line is this, America: The ability of the media to not only shape public opinion – but to influence the actions of a narcissistic shallow president whose paramount objective is reelecting himself – is still profound. Scary too.
Can you imagine where this election would stand right now if we had an unbiased media?

PROGRESSIVE-LEANING PANEL PICKS MODERATORS FOR PRESIDENTIAL DEBATES (FAIR AND BALANCED...BWAH-HAH-HAH)

The Romney/Ryan debates are set, and as usual, the liberals have had their way and will do all the can to give an advantage to Obama, without overtly appearing to do so...

While many focus on combating liberal voter fraud in the upcoming election as the means to ensure we have a fair election, the sad reality is that even if that were accomplished, we will never have a truly fair election until we demand a fair and balanced media. This stacked deck shows we are nowhere near that goal yet.  Whoever can do that for the American people deserves the Nobel prize given to Obama.

Newt could have done it, but he'll be sitting stage right.

P.S. Jim Lehrer, really?

The moderators for the nation’s 2012 presidential debates were picked by a progressive liberal panel of Washington establishment figures, dubbed the Commission on Presidential Debates.
The four debates are important because they can shape opinions among the late-deciding voters whose ballots will likely decide the election in swing-states, including Florida, Virginia and Ohio.
Each of the chosen moderators work for establishment media outlets or for government-funded media operations.

The establishment journalists are CNN’s Candy Crowley, ABC News’ Marth Raddatz and CBS’ Bob Scheiffer. Jim Lehrer works for PBS, which is supported by the government.
The locations were also chosen by the progressive-skewed commission.
Three debates will include President Barack Obama and Republican candidate Mitt Romney. One debate will feature Vice President Joe Biden and Rep. Paul Ryan.
The commission’s nine-member board include Antonia Hernandez, a former president of the Mexican American Legal Defense and Eduction Fund and a member of the progressive American Constitutional Society, and Howard Buffett, the son of billionaire Obama-booster Warren Buffett.

The group also include Richard Parsons, a former chief of Citigroup and a long-standing friend of Obama, and John Jenkins, the president of Notre Dame who invited Obama to speak at the university in 2009 despite a firestorm of criticism from orthodox Catholics.

The commission’s members also include Dorothy Ridings, president of the progressive-leaning Council on Foundations, and Newton Minow, the progressive-leaning former chairman of the Federal Communications Commission.
The two most prominent Republican members of the board are both social liberals — former Sens. John C. Danforth and Alan K. Simpson.

The executive director is Janet H. Brown, a former White House official.
The two co-chairs are Michael D. McCurry, the former spokesman for President Bill Clinton, and Frank J. Fahrenkopf, the current president of the casino trade group, the American Gaming Association. Fahrenkopf was chairman of the Republican National Committee a quarter of a century ago, from 1983 to 1989. Both Fahrenkopf and McCurry work for lobbying firms.

Romney’s campaign declined to comment about the political tilt of the reporters. “Debate moderators are selected by the Commission on Presidential Debates,” said a statement from Ryan Williams. “You should check with them for questions.”

Commission director and spokeswoman Janet H. Brown declined to respond.

Lehrer will moderate the first presidential debate on Oct. 3, from Denver. CNN’s Crowley will moderate a town-hall style event on Oct. 16 in the very blue state of New York and CBS’ Schieffer will run the third debate on Oct. 22, from Florida.

Raddatz will moderate the vice presidential debate on Oct. 11, from Danville, Kentucky.

BTW, I couldn't help but notice some planned focus points for the Romney/Obama debates;
The first of the three debates features the economy, which Romney should be strong on, but ends with the third debate delving into foreign policy, the one area where Obama is perceived (wrongly) to have an advantage. Clearly, they want Obama to leave with his best foot forward.
