Tea Party/ Patriot rally in McKenzie Park, Panama City, FLPat

Yesterday, to celebrate Washington's birthday, a crowd of 300 or so Constitutionalists, patriots, ( including veterans), Bay Patriots, "a" politician, political hopefuls and Tea Party members and supporters (strangely absent was the presence of the Democratic Party in Bay County), gathered at McKenzie Park, after a walk up from the St. Andrews marina. For some unknown reason, three of PCPD's finest planted themselves in the center of the activities, to subdue and arrest any rowdy rabble rouser, no doubt. They don't get it; they were entirely unnecessary. We peaceably assembled as is our right. (Hmmm...I wonder if any of them are Oathkeepers?)

Though the sky threatened rain, the flags and signs came out, the political hopefuls meeted and greeted, questions were asked and most of them answered (and sometimes not satisfactorily), and speeches were made.

This movement is not dead. It is not being usurped by the Republican Party here in Bay County, Florida. We won't let that happen. We are dead set on returning our government to conservatism, and aren't really concerned with political parties.

I was very personally moved by the invocation and by the excellent speech given by talk radio host, Burnie Thompson. It was also my honor to support the veterans who were asked to join the organizer in front of the bandstand.

While I didn't have enough battery life in my camera to record Burnie, (if you can get him on your radio in the morning, please do), I did record the invocation except for the first sentence or two.

I saw only one county commissioner, and then, only briefly.

In a conversation with our State Representative Jimmy Patronis' office this morning, there were indications that they are listening. "They", all over the country, had better listen carefully. Anger fuels action, and we aren't going to allow politicians who we send to commissions, and councils, to the state or federal offices, are going to be made accountable. They are there at our pleasure, and WE ARE NOT PLEASED. WE WILL BE HEARD.

Rep. Allen Boyd's last nose thumbing at his constituents

As discovered from calls to his office and the Panama City News Herald, yesterday's edition, Rep. Allen Boyd (D-FL) has decided to call off the Obamacare moderated panel discussion at Gulf Coast Community College, Panama City, FL despite 500 ticket recipients who had to pick them up at the college. They were sold out in two hours.

He disdains Bay County so much, that he decided against a town hall meeting and hold this instead, so there would be control of questions and answers.

A few days before, the Bay Patriots (www.baypatriots.org), issued a Citizen Summons for a free interchange of questions and answers in a more traditional format to be held at the college in the courtyard of Amelia Center in the theater arts building. With Burnie Thompson, local talk show host, advertising this town hall, adjacent counties, Sallie May employees, local interested citizens who are averse to Obamacare and other issues, this family and Constitution-oriented event will be held with or without Boyd. Boyd will be in Bay County today, but apparently is too disinterested in his constituents to bother.

This should send a flag up to all counties and constituents in his Congressional district because at any time, he could turn on you.

For all interested parties who want to exercise our Constitutional right to redress government,
bring the family to see our rights to this ideal in action. Someone has donated hot dogs and hamburgers. The event will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. tonight. Bring lawn chairs and an umbrella.

If he doesn't show, there will be gigantic pieces of paper with your questions, to be mailed to Boyd.

He isn't performing to his oath. He needs to be fired.

Congressman Boyd’s office is not very happy with the Citizen’s

Summons they received this morning demanding the Congressman to meet with his constituents, and have yet to officially say he will show. We officially notified them this morning. We left no doubt as to our demand that he be there to answer to his constituents.

We did this in response to the limited access, mediated forum which most definitely IS NOT (as intimated on Boyd’s website) a Town Hall meeting. While we appreciate the intentions and efforts to bring about a forum on healthcare, there are too many unanswered questions about the Energy Bill, out of control spending and our mounting national debt, to name just a few.

We feel that Congressman Boyd serves at our discretion and should heed this call to appear. He is, in fact, OUR employee.

Please assemble peaceably at GCCC by 5PM and plan to stay till 8:30PM if possible. We will be issuing a news release with the above information to all the area’s news media sources.

Send copies of this call to action to everyone you can think of and do everything possible to get this word out.

Bay County protest against Rep. Allen Boyd's vote on climate bill

They arrived in a trickle, most with gray hair, their signs condemning Rep. Allen Boyd (D), who was giving a talk on successfully growing a small business at Gulf Coast Community College. An older gentleman carried a bullhorn, occasionally streaming a diatribe against the the Clean Air Bill (or Cap and Trade), into the traffic along Highway 98. The remark was made that it was a shame that the demonstrators were older adults, and were they the only ones who remembered what it was like to feel free.

And then they came - businessmen and women on their lunch breaks, mothers with young children, fathers with their teenagers, retirees, veterans, students. Most were carrying signs, waving flags. They poured themselves along curb, encouraging motorists to honk their horns, waving signs; thumbs up and fists held high. An effigy appeared of Boyd hanging from a fishing rod, complete with tar and feathers. The flag of the colonies was paraded, flying among "Don't Tread on Me" flags and our contemporary flag. The enthusiasm was contagious.

And still they came. The elderly woman in the walker who barely made it across the lawn, the old gentleman on the bicycle flying two flags on his basket, attendees who joined the group who had taken the seminar.

Burnie Thompson, our affable WYOO talk show host who wakes us daily with "The Morning Show", along with Derrell Day of the Bay Patriots, put the call out yesterday.
Boyd would be speaking at Gulf Coast Community College, and we needed to take a stand against his vote on the Cap and Trade bill that passed in the House of Representatives this week, his questionable ethics, and his Constitutional oath-breaking. Would we come? Would we show our true patriotic colors?

That we did and more.

The crowd began to migrate toward the student union hall around 1 p.m. so that Boyd could not avoid seeing them. He would know that Bay Countians are fed up with his form of representation.
The man next to me smiles and says, "It's easy to feel good when you're right."

That seemed to say it all.

And then we watched the news. Though there were over 200 people, the television news media reported very low numbers. Boyd was interviewed by a reporter who asked if he had read the bill. He had, IN FACT, NOT READ THE BILL. He had the audacity to tell her that his staff read parts of it and reported back to him but they had not yet completed it.

Allen Boyd is on an agricultural committee. He is also a farmer here in northwest Florida and benefits greatly from policies he helps make. Subsidies subsidize him!

He has been a Representative for many years. It’s time for him to go. We must unelect him. His ethics are deplorable. And to think he can add his name to a bill that will give over our lives to big government, and a socialist/communist one at that, is unforgivable. This is a man who wants an estate tax so badly, he can taste it.

It’s time to get behind a new candidate (I met one yesterday) who is running for Boyd’s seat. Until I get permission from him, I’ll stay quiet.

DOWN WITH ALLEN BOYD! HE’S A FAT CAT GETTING FATTER OFF OUR BACKS EVERY SECOND HE’S EMPLOYED BY US. TIME TO GO TO WORK AND REMOVE HIM FROM OFFICE.

Boyd could not avoid the protestors and smiled sheepishly when he exited a rear door. But when he got into his vehicle, he turned to someone. He was laughing. Laughing at the crowd. They didn't matter to him.

Not many of the Congress care about us. We need to remember that as they go about their own, personal empire building, without remembering their oaths of office to us and God.

Attended a debate this morning...

at Gulf Coast Community College, at the new Amelia Center in the Theater Arts building.

The subject was the Fourth Amendment as related to Florida Highway Patrol traffic stops, where you are required to "show your papers" or risk arrest. These are disguised as a "good thing", but in reality, you have been seized by law enforcement for unreasonable cause. According to the Fourth Amendment, you can be seized or searched for reasonable cause.

Debating was local talk show host, Burnie Thompson and Assistant Professor Michael Gaddis. This was the first in an ongoing series. It was held at 10:00 a.m. and the audience was mostly comprised of students; however, there was a following a Thompson's who attended. It was worth taking a few hours off for the listeners who call in commuting. And Thompson, in my opinion, won hands down, if applause was to be gauged.

Thompson believes (does this sound biased?) as I do, that government should take a giant step back where it belongs, and as far as the FHP (Florida Highway Patrol), they are overstepping their duties (and not performing them), for a 5% arrest rate. His contention is that these stops are in direct violation of the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution.

Gaddis, on the other hand, didn't quite make his point. He believes the inconvenience is tolerable; that the Constitution is a living, breathing document that can be manipulated and changed at will.

The Bay Patriots were in attendance as well, and were distributing pocket Constitutions, one of which will be a permanent fixture on my dashboard in case I am stopped, to remind the FHP officer who detains me, that I know he is trampling my rights.

In an interesting conversation outside with a former law enforcement officer, I found that if recognized at these stops, fellow law enforcement officers of any jurisdiction, no matter if they are drunk or if their vehicles need work to be safe, are waved through. The Brotherhood exists.

Am I surprised? No. Not at all.

After the debate, I suggested to Gaddis, who will be holding these debates on a regular basis, that they do one on jury nullification, a powerful tool of the citizen juror which is little known. No judge wants his decision to be overridden by his jury. Yet, this is an important part of American law, well hidden from the public. And the judge isn't going to relinquish his omnipotence in the courtroom.
