MORE SLIME COMING OUT OF THE BENGHAZI STORY - THIS IS FROM JUDICIAL WATCH.

Judicial Watch Weekly Update - From the Desk of President Tom Fitton
VA Congressman's Son Nabbed on Video in Voter Fraud Scandal Resigns from Campaign

It is becoming increasingly difficult for liberals and leading Democrats to continue to push the false narrative that election fraud is a "phantom" problem when Democratic campaigns keep getting nabbed in election fraud scandals.

In September, a Maryland Democratic congressional candidate was caught voting in two different states, a violation of the law. As a result of the scandal, the candidate, Wendy Rosen, was forced to abandon her bid for office.

Now another campaign has taken a hit as the son of congressional candidate, incumbent Democrat Jim Moran, was reportedly caught on tape advising an undercover journalist how to commit election fraud.

Conservative journalist James O'Keefe had the video and
World Net Daily got the story:

The son of Rep. Jim Moran, D-Va. - who serves as the field director for his father's campaign - has been caught on video advising an undercover reporter how to fraudulently cast ballots in the name of registered voters by forging utility bills and relying on the assistance of Democrat lawyers.

James O'Keefe's Project Veritas, known for its hidden-camera probe of the controversial national community organizing group tied to Obama, ACORN, carried out the investigation and provided the video exclusively to WND [WorldNetDaily].

You can see the video for yourself here. It's disturbing and incriminating.

Here's the gist. The undercover reporter catches up with Moran's son, Patrick, at a restaurant and tells him on a hidden camera that he knows of 100 people who aren't going to vote and that a "friend" had the idea to get in a van and go around to polling stations and to vote for them.

Moran then appears to instruct the reporter on how to fake identification in order to vote, noting that security could be high at polling stations this year. Here's how that part of the conversation went, according to World Net Daily:

"So, if they just have the utility bill or bank statement - bank statement would obviously be tough ... but faking a utility bill would be easy enough," Moran says.

The reporter asks: "How would you do that?"

"I mean, I would just find, I don't know," Moran replies. "I guess. ..."

"Microsoft Word and type it up," offers the reporter.

Now, as if this were not disturbing enough, we then get an inside peek at what the Obama campaign has in store for Election Day. Moran seems to indicate that if for some reason the person with the fake utility bill is somehow caught, there will be a Democratic lawyer or Obama campaign lawyer on-hand to help: "You'll have somebody in house, that if they feel that what you have is legitimate, they'll argue for you," Moran reportedly says, before cautioning the reporter that the utility bill has "got to look good."

Patrick Moran
resigned over the scandal. He claims he was only joking.  As I say, you can watch the video for yourself and decide if you believe him. Here is an excerpt from his statement: "In retrospect, I should just walked away, making it clear that there is no place in the electoral process for even the suggestion of illegal behavior, joking or not. In regards to my position on the campaign, I have stepped down because I do not want to be a distraction during this year's critical election."

There is, appropriately, now a
criminal investigation underway of Mr. Moran's "joke."

Real-life election fraud is certainly no joke. This is something I've been speaking about for many months as JW continues to push forward with its
2012 Election Integrity Campaign. The Obama crowd has a multi-pronged attack on the integrity of elections, by abusing the law to improperly register Obama's "Food Stamp Army," failing to enforce laws that require states to clean up dirty voter registration lists, suing states that try to impose election integrity measures, and openly courting illegal alien voters.

And if all that fails? There will be a legion of lawyers on hand to tie up the election results in litigation. (Though I'm sure that Republicans will have their fair share of lawyers to fight over every last vote in a close election.)

Now the name
James O'Keefe is probably familiar to you by now. He is the undercover reporter who caught ACORN employees on tape advising him how to violate tax and prostitution laws. He also caught on tape poll workers handing Eric Holder's ballot to an undercover reporter, who was - as you might have guessed - not Eric Holder.

If you want to get the latest information on the election fraud problem, I highly recommend that you
click over and watch our recent educational panel that covered the latest in election integrity issues.

My guests for that panel included the top experts in this field, including J. Christian Adams, Founder of the Election Law Center Virginia and author of Injustice: Exposing the Racial Agenda of the Obama Justice Department; Catherine Engelbrecht, President of True the Vote; and Hans von Spakovsky, Senior Legal Fellow and Manager of the Civil Justice Reform Initiative in the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies for The Heritage Foundation and co-author of Who's Counting?: How Fraudsters and Bureaucrats Put Your Vote at Risk; and Pennsylvania State Rep. Daryl Metcalf, the author of Pennsylvania's voter ID law.

This was an eye-opening educational panel and an excellent primer on election fraud as we enter the last days of election season. But I do want to point out that this problem does not disappear after November 6.  Election fraud is an ever-present and growing problem that your Judicial Watch will vigorously confront in 2012 and beyond.

From Bad to Worse in Benghazi

Every day that passes, the news gets worse and worse regarding the Obama administration's handling of Benghazi-Gate and then the subsequent cover-up. I'll say it - "cover-up" - even if much of the liberal media won't.

This week we learned that CIA emails (marked SUB, Sensitive But Unclassified) demonstrate that just two hours after the attack, White House officials were told that a group with ties to al-Qaeda had taken credit for the terrorist attack. (You can read the emails for yourself
here.) Reuter's take:

Officials at the White House and State Department were advised two hours after attackers assaulted the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11 that an Islamic militant group had claimed credit for the attack, official emails show.

The emails, obtained by Reuters from government sources not connected with U.S. spy agencies or the State Department and who requested anonymity, specifically mention that the Libyan group called Ansar al-Sharia had asserted responsibility for the attacks.

The brief emails also show how U.S. diplomats described the attack, even as it was still under way, to Washington.

As you may recall, Obama administration officials from President Obama to Secretary of State Clinton to United Nations Ambassador Rice - immediately pushed the narrative that the violence was due to spontaneous protests sparked by an Internet video that offended Muslims. (You can read my
account of these statements from a recent update.)

Well, now we know this was a bald-faced lie and that the Obama White House knew or should have known it was false. After all, one of the landing places for these emails was the email in-box of the White House Situation Room, President Obama's Secure Command Post. So this is why I use the word "cover-up." It certainly seems to fit, as there is no doubt high ranking Obama officials concealed the truth about what they knew and when they knew it so as to avoid damaging the president's re-election chances. Obama campaign officials (and their friends in the "mainstream" press) are trying to run out the clock past Election Day on this scandal. But the truth about what happened in Benghazi, which cannot be squelched entirely by the mainstream press, keeps interfering with their plans.

And what does the Obama administration have to say about all of this?

White House spokesman Jay Carney suggested that CIA officials were not certain who was to blame. Information was flying in from all angles, he says, depicting a scene of utter chaos. They did not mention the terrorist link referenced in these emails because they were concerned about
"pointing fingers too early."

Really? Tell that to the producer of the Internet video last seen with a towel wrapped around his face while under arrest (for the pretext of violating his probation). After the Obama administration pointed its finger in his direction, blaming his crude video for inciting the murder of four U.S. citizens in Benghazi, the man was arrested for violating his probation. Certainly the president, secretary of state and the UN ambassador had no problem jumping to conclusions, seemingly because the narrative suited the Obama agenda.

The White House is also deriding the fact that the principal method of claiming credit for the attack came via Facebook, which, in their estimation is not a credible source of evidence. (Hillary Clinton herself issued a statement in this regard.) But what was their evidence that the video - which had been circulating for months - was the source of the violence? No good answer there.

What we do know is that the person of interest being held in Tunisia right now for his suspected ties to the terrorist attack is a member of the same group, Ansar Al-Sharia, that claimed credit for it in that "untrustworthy" Facebook post. You can read about it
here in a CBS account, but you'll have to scroll all the way down to paragraph 14 to see his connection to Ansar Al-Sharia. Talk about burying the lede.

Indeed, we should have no expectations that the media will do the dirty work of getting to the truth in this scandal, especially so close to Election Day. (
The Washington Post buried the CIA email story on page nine!) So, again, it's up to us.

JW filed two Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests with the State Department seeking security survey and assessments for the U.S. Consulate in Libya. We also want access to Ambassador Stevens' notes, as well as correspondence between the State Department and various media and government organizations on this scandal.

The State Department has acknowledged receipt of our requests, but has not responded in the statutorily allotted timeframe. The filing of lawsuits is a near-certainty.

I know it's a popular thing to do this time of year, to tag every news event with a political angle, but for us this is not about politics. This is about national security. It's about four dead Americans, including an American ambassador. It's about getting to the truth in one of the most serious foreign policy blunders in recent memory.

And the truth, as we know it right now, is this: The murders of four Americans in Benghazi were the result of an organized terrorist attack; American resources were an hour's plane ride away from mounting a rescue operation, but the rescue was never ordered; the President of the United States, and other high-ranking officials, likely knew (
definitely knew?) that this was a terrorist attack, but lied to the American people.

News is now breaking over at Fox News, the only network committed to covering this story thoroughly, that CIA operatives in Benghazi were denied requested military support and
were told to "stand down" three times instead of going to the consulate that was under attack.

I will have more answers for you in this space as news on Benghazi-Gate continues to develop. Our next stop is federal court, if the Obama administration stonewalling continues.

Judicial Watch Film Details Truth about "District of Corruption"

As most of you know, there is nothing "Hollywood" about Judicial Watch. But as the nation's largest government watchdog organization, we know that investigations and a willingness to go to court will get you facts that the greatest screenwriter could never imagine. We grind out victories against corruption by painstakingly wading through the flood of government records we obtain, and by winning court victories brief by brief. We are nonpartisan and we are conservative, both in philosophy and style.

We're more accustomed to cutting through red tape than walking a red carpet.

But we appreciate the power of telling a story. And, as I referenced last week, that is why this year we joined forces with the conservative movement's most prolific filmmaker,
Stephen K. Bannon, to put together what we believe is the most entertaining and comprehensive film ever made about government corruption.

Our film, a feature documentary produced by Victory Film Group and Constant Motion Entertainment, is called
District of Corruption. And it premiers today in cities in three states - Florida, Ohio and Texas - courtesy of Rocky Mountain Pictures, the distributors behind the smash hit documentary Obama: 2016.  (Click here for more information on cities and show times.)

So why this film and why now?

Because next to the economy, government corruption is the most
important issue on the minds of American citizens - ahead of Iran; ahead of Afghanistan; ahead of education; gas prices; and the environment. (Click here to read more about public concern for corruption as demonstrated by Judicial Watch's poll earlier this year.) Over the last several years we have witnessed the greatest expansion of government power in modern political history, precipitating an explosion of corruption and crony capitalism that threatens our institutions of government.

So this is a story that is both of high interest and critical importance.

Like Judicial Watch, District of Corruption does not pull any punches. It is brutally honest. And it names names.

The film chronicles Judicial Watch's epic battles against corruption through three presidential administrations (Clinton, Bush, Obama), focusing most intensely on the current administration's scandals, including: Operation Fast and Furious; crony capitalism; Solyndra and other "green energy;" federal bailouts and earmarks; ACORN and voter fraud; illegal alien amnesty; and threats to the integrity of the 2012 elections; as well as new attacks on government transparency and accountability.

The film traces the arc of government corruption and secrecy from the Clinton administration through the Bush years to the current crisis. Make no mistake; this film is as factual and hard-hitting a film on this out-of-control Obama administration as you will see.

And believe me when I say, there is no organization better able to tell this story than Judicial Watch.

We have filed
950 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and more than 90 lawsuits against the Obama administration on issues ranging from Obamacare to the continued funding of the criminal ACORN network; from tracking Wall Street bailout money to the unconstitutional use of czars; and, perhaps most importantly, to the attacks on the integrity of our nation's elections.

Moreover, our film also features the conservative movement's most influential leaders and cutting-edge voices including: J. Christian Adams (Election Law Center), Matthew Boyle (The Daily Caller), Mike Flynn (Breitbart.com), Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX), Vern McKinley (author, Financing Failure: A Century of Bailouts), Anita Moncrief (former ACORN insider), Katie Pavlich (Townhall.com), Kerry Picket (The Washington Times), Peter Schweizer (author, Throw Them All Out), Mark Tapscott (The Washington Examiner), and Matthew Vadum (author, Subversion Inc.: How Obama's ACORN Red Shirts Are Still Terrorizing and Ripping Off American Taxpayers).

You can see that the film features an exceptional collection of voices to educate Americans about some of the most important political scandals of our time.

But while this production is certainly high on educational value, this is not your father's documentary. Be prepared for a breathtaking experience. The film is fast paced, visually stunning and compelling from the beginning to the end. It will leave you a little shocked, perhaps a little breathless and, in the end, we hope optimistic and motivated. I may be biased, but I believe this is his best film yet. (And Mr. Bannon had a number of big successes including the Sarah Palin film The Undefeated and the recently released Occupy Unmasked.)

This fall the nation will see more than a few fictional portrayals of today's Washington in theaters. But our movie is not simply "based on a true story."  It is the true story about the longstanding problem of bipartisan corruption in Washington, DC.  And we believe it is a must-watch for every American citizen.

As I say, we can get this film in more theaters if we get a good response! So please forward this update to all of your friends in Columbus, Ohio; Houston, Texas; and The Villages, Florida; and tell them to see the film!  (And if you're in those areas, email
info@movietomovement.com for ticket information.)

Until next week...
