Don't forget - venomous snakes and family pets are not compatible here in Florida where the snake season never really ends, especially down south. So you have been forewarned. Watch where you walk; don't keep junk and brush piles around, be careful of working in the garden, because coral snakes are very crotchety and can chew some venom into you easily. Be careful of walking barefoot in the dark because those little ankle biters, the pigmy rattlers who are a little fatter, but lengthwise not much larger than a new pencil, are hard to find because of their camouflage.
Water moccasins love hiding in old tires especially on docks when they're used as bumpers and from overhanging limbs.
Copperheads aren't deadly, but they inflict painful bites. They love sunbathing on rocks around fresh water.
Watch where you put your hands, and keep an eye on your pets.
