A little background here. Mr. Hess, who owns Ebro Greyhound Track and the poker/gambling facility attached to it, is a relative of Glenn Hess, former 14th Judicial Circuit judge and now our State Attorney. Let's see if the owner of the dogs gets a slap on the wrist for this abomination.

There should be frequent, regular monitoring of these racing dogs and their kennels. It is well known that they are often abused, starved, shot, left to rot in the woods, buried in mass graves. There is a local chapter of Greyhound rescue here in Panama City, FL who gather at Books-A-Million with adoptable Greyhounds on Saturdays. http://www.adopt-a-greyhound.org/

HOW CAN YOU STARVE A DOG ON PURPOSE?

I will be writing to Wayne Pacelle of HSUS today to alert him to this tragedy.

Personally, I would like to see the Ebro track closed down. But it could reopen as some kind of racing track for cars, and I'll bet the gate profit would go up considerably.
