When the conversation turned to George Zimmerman and the importance of "stand your ground" legislation being targeted by the leftist/progressives and anti-gun radicals in our country, I went hunting for signs of a legal defense fund. I emailed his attorney, Mark O'Mara, sent emails to JPFO, Alan Gottlieb of GOA, and finally, Dr. Eowyn of the blog Fellowship of the Minds sent me the above link. Many thanks to you, Dr. Eowyn.

Although a tragedy, it is my opinion that this case will be the spark to ignite yet another vicious assault on our Constitutional rights as Americans. So I suggested to all my contacts and to the gentlemen of the organizations above that each firearm owning American donate 50 cents or 50 cents per firearm to Zimmerman's legal defense fund. You know why? Because our right to self defense is endangered - Governor Rick Scott of Florida is showing signs of cowardice. If he folds, Florida will be furious with him, because he appeased irate citizens but forgot the bigger picture - Constitutional rights - for all. Re-election is everything, unfortunately.

My fear is that Obama will sign an executive order in the dark of night and will prohibit any state from having "stand your ground" laws. That issue was settled with the Constitution after a long and bloody fight with a king.

Here in Florida, Gov. Rick Scott is starting to waffle and has created a panel to investigate the law.

If every gun owner in the USA put 50 cents into Zimmerman's pot, guilty or innocent, it would make a VERY BIG STATEMENT to Obama and the anti-gun leftists to leave the Constitution and our Second Amendment rights alone.
