I've lived in two places that were heated by woodstoves. My son split a LOT of wood when we lived in Oregon.
Stacking it neatly was a pain in the butt, and never "neat". But here's how the Scandinavians do it.
Thank them for clean design, always. And it makes sense, looks attractive and I can't see where removing enough for a night is going to make the rest tumble on your unprotected toes.
It's good to learn something every day.
