UK - A new era in citizen surveillance - why are you rolling over? Please tell me!

I know I have a couple of friends in the UK now - I can tell by my map, and I appreciate your interest. But please, please tell me why your people have allowed this surveillance to occur. How can you bear to have the government do this to anyone - good OR bad parents. The thought of it is gut grabbing.

The next time you blink, you'll all have surveillance cameras in your homes. Is that what you want?
