I have a friend whose creative lifestyle belies the person underneath. She is a conservative woman, younger than I (a lot younger), and she loves the history of the United States. What follows is the fruit of some of her research. She sent it to me with one sentence...
"We are so screwed."
But then, it's up to US (as in "We, the People") to get our giant screwdrivers out and unscrew ourselves.
