Ever have shoofly pie?
I went on a tour of the Amish country with a church group once. I was in my early teens.
For lunch we sat at long tables and benches and the food kept coming. For dessert there was an assortment of freshly baked pies and cakes, and I chose the shoofly pie, I guess because of the name.
It was wonderful.
Now, has anyone got an authentic recipe for scrapple? I'll post it if you do, with my thanks!
