You probably know that it's common to dump a python after it gets too big to handle. In the Everglades, they are finding the habitat to their liking, and flourishing. That's the problem with non-native species. They eat the natives and disrupt the ecological system.
It's getting serious - but what Floridians, and those who live in the southeast where they may be a problem don't consider is that snake meat is served in a lot of Asian countries, and probably in many countries around the world.
Maybe it'll take a little while to get used to the idea, but it's a great way to harvest a harmful species to our benefit.
