And I've observed something no one seems to notice...Chinese buffets.
If you frequent these wonders of gustatorial delights, you will notice the turnover of the wait staff. If you engage them in conversation, they tell you where they are from - mostly from the interior of China, not Hong Kong.
And if you're a regular, you see them for about 2 months and they just vanish. Where do they go? If you ask them, they've been to San Francisco, New York, major cities. How can they travel? The USA is a big place and travelling, even with a group, is expensive. Where do they live?
Asked one very loquacious young man about his plans...well, his family was still at home in China, and he was traveling through the USA. Had been in Los Angeles and San Francisco, Arizona. He was quite young. Wanted to be a soldier and was very animated and excited about it.
Just my observation.
