HOW ABOUT A LITTLE MUSIC -

I really like this song so I have to play it again because my Cassie just pulled my hair and I think she liked it, too.

QUOTE OF THE DAY FOR DARK TIMES AHEAD - FROM BOB DYLAN...PLEASE HEED THE CALL

Remember when Viet Nam was hot, and we watched for the first time, news film on our black and white tv sets, a little grainy, but nevertheless, heartbreaking scenes of our troops in combat?  We hated the war - some more vocal than others and took it to the streets.  The government listened to us eventually.  I can't say "I" - I didn't participate in protest demonstrations.  I didn't wear beads; wasn't living in a painted hippie van,
didn't go to Woodstock (although I wanted to, secretly).

Damn - I was such a girly girl then.  Dimwit.  I should have gotten into politics back then. Politics, holding office, wasn't for ME.  I knew nothing about it.  With age comes wisdom.  How many people say the same thing?  How many of us fall by the wayside saying "I'd never have a chance."

I knew the war was wrong, and I remember when the copters were taking babies out of the country, I was hanging on the phone for hours trying to put my name on the list to adopt one.

I remember the people trying to be rescued from the top of the embassy...the faces of those left behind to face execution.

It was a dark time in our history.

But they listened.  Eventually.

So across the decades comes the quote of the day in a song by Bob Dylan, who wouldn't have thought an obscure conservative blogger would be using his words today. Here are the lyrics.  It is a musical warning for the masses...because the times, they ARE achangin'.

Come gather ’round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You’ll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you is worth savin’
Then you better start swimmin’ or you’ll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin’
Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won’t come again
And don’t speak too soon
For the wheel’s still in spin
And there’s no tellin’ who that it’s namin’
For the loser now will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin’
Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don’t stand in the doorway
Don’t block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There’s a battle outside and it is ragin’
It’ll soon shake your windows and rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin’
Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don’t criticize
What you can’t understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is rapidly agin’
Please get out of the new one if you can’t lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin’
The line it is drawn
The curse it is cast
The slow one now
Will later be fast
As the present now
Will later be past
The order is rapidly fadin’
And the first one now will later be last
For the times they are a-changin’

ROMANCING THE WIND...YOU WON'T BELIEVE THIS! YOUR EYES AND YOUR BRAIN NEED A REST...I KNOW THEY DO.

From now on, if someone says to go fly a kite, do it!!!

                                                      AMAZING...PRECISION KITE FLYING!
The guy flying the 3 kites is in his 80s, and he's from Canada . He comes to the Washington State International Kite Festival every year.
His skin is like leather as he normally flies with his shirt off. He is deaf, so when he flies we hold our hands up and wave them
for applause. He flies 2 with his hands and the 3rd one is attached to his waist. Enjoy!

You must watch to the end to see the amazing landing of that last kite! I would have those kites so tangled up,
you could never get them separated again! And of course, make sure the volume is turned up because the music
is wonderful and totally reflects the soaring of the kites. Beautiful.

LET'S HEAR A LITTLE C. C. THORNLEY

I just was handed a promotional CD of C. C. Thornley and the Black Swans of Tresspass.  I loved it.

Found this on Youtube.  Reminds me a little of some 70s music.  Sounds good, doesn't it?  CC's from Australia.

Haven't been there yet, but check out www.ccthornley.com

HOW ABOUT A LITTLE MUSIC FROM CORAL QUINTANARES? BET YOU HAVEN'T HEARD OF THEM. YOU WILL.

Didn't get to go for a paddle on this beautiful day, so I put on some music.  Coral Quintanares from Brasil reminds me a little of Manhattan transfer, but they are singing Brasilian songs, some are bossas, and there's a fine version of Berimbau.

I can hear again.  I'm just about back to normal.  It's been a very long time recovering.  I am so grateful.
I can go to a restaurant and children don't sound like penny whistles or saxophones.  It was awful.  About a year and a half.

Enjoy!
