'IMPRIMUS' FROM HILLSDALE COLLEGE

This is a free newsletter from Hillsdale to which you may subscribe. www.hillsdale.edu

October's newsletter has an article written by Mike Pence, US representative from Indiana.

The subject is 'THE PRESIDENCY AND THE CONSTITUTION". Please try to get this. It is worth reading if you are confused about just what a President's duties are so I don't have to type the whole thing!

Here's an excerpt:

"America is not a dog, and does not require a "because I said so" jurisprudence; or legislators who knit laws of such insulting complexity that they are heavier than hains; or a president who acts like, speaks like, and is received as a king.

The president is not our teacher, our tutor, our guide or ruler. He does not command us; we command him. We serve neither him nor his vision. It is not his job or his prerogative to redefine custom, law, and beliefs; to appropriate industries; to seize the country, as it were, by the shoulders or by the throat so as to impose by force of theatrical charisma his justice upon 300 million others. It is neither his job nor his prerogative to shift the power of decision away from them, and to him and the acolytes of his choosing."

This one newsletter by Pence is an important piece of writing. I hope you will try to get it from Hillsdale.

It is invaluable when you are concerned with the current assaults on our freedom and liberty such as what Janet Napolitano is doing with full sanction of a man who lies to us, who is a communist, and has still not produced a valid birth certificate

From Imprimus of Hillsdale College - Mark Steyn on Live Free or Die

http://www.hillsdale.edu/news/imprimis.asp

Excellent article - very well worth the time you will spend to read it. However, Mr. Steyn has neglected to admit that the conservative leadership in this country have also contributed to our slide to a terminal entity.

Republicans and conservatives are also guilty of complacency and worse. We all are.

IMPRIMIS Magazing article: A Prescription for American Health Care

http://www.hillsdale.edu/news/imprimis.asp

A very interesting, serious article on the dire circumstances of the promise of federal entitlements to our population, and the Ponzi scheme facts that THERE IS NO MONEY FOR THEM.

John C. Goodman, President, National Center for Policy Analysis has sad news for us all, especially the baby boomers and their children.

This is a publication of Hillsdale College, which operates without federal funding. The speech was given in Naples, Florida on February 18, 2009 at Hillsdale College National Leadership Seminar.

If you care about yourself, your family, way into the distant future, then you must read this article.

Medicare is broke. Social Security is broke. And the Congressional Budget Office, btw, Democrat controlled, shows that that Medicare and Medicaid are "going to crowd out everything else the federal government is doing by mid-century. And that means everything - national defense, energy, education, the whole works."

Our tax burden by mid-century will mean a middle-income family will have to pay two-thirds of its income in taxes.

When you voted for Obama, did you want for this to happen?
