NOTE FROM A RESIDENT OF CALIFORNIA ON AGENDA 21 - AB32 AND SB375

This is a comment I solicited from a good friend who is a retired City Manager in California. She worked for three or four medium sized and small cities so she knows what she's talking about. I sent her the article from the lady in Alaska. Susan paints a grim picture that we need to prevent from happening here.
It is already too late in California. The state has passed two major bills (AB 32 and SB 375) which require local jurisdictions to implement sustainability plan by next year or they will not be eligible for any state transportation funding. Most cities receive a lot of their street money through the state so they are motivated to adopt the plans. The local jurisdiction can also not have any new development until the local government adopts this sustainability plan which has be approved by the your regional government (AMBAG). All new residential development must be high density. Hold on to your single family house. They are going to become very valuable in California. It all just makes me gag.
