Spring break here means only a few things:
That law enforcement is waiting to entrap your children, parents, you and your friends because it means they make a lot of money and so do the bailbondsmen and attorneys.
You will know or hear of someone taking a fatal or nearly fatal dive off a balcony. It might even be you. If you survive, your life will be forever changed.
You will have unprotected sex with quite possibly, more than one partner you don't know and those you do.
You will probably arrive home with an STD.
You will give someone an STD.
You will be blind drunk most of the time.
You will take chances with strangers.
You will be given alcohol by an older breaker.
You will be hungover and throw up...a lot.
You will wake up with strangers and not know where you are.
You will do things that will shame your family and you when the truth comes out.
You will be charged exorbitant prices for cheap vacation souvenirs.
You will probably be arrested.
You will be exposed to drugs of all kinds.
You will relieve yourselves on public streets because you are too drunk to care.
You will be enticed by falling beer prices.
You will trash a hotel room(s).
You may become an alcoholic or a drug addict on this trip.
You will not remember all of your trip.
You will risk rape or worse. There's always that chance.
Panama City and Panama City Beach will take a lot of your money.
If you are smart, you will stay away.
I cannot believe that Panama City and Panama City Beach encourage the orgy that is spring break. They do it to line the coffers of the city, the police and legal professionals. You are meat with money.
As a resident, I would like to see the return of families for spring break. I hate that you are being exploited by being persuaded by your peers and our TDC to come here.
